Yum! After leaving Troll Pub disappointed my husband I ventured to Luckys in OD-- their kitchen is open until 11pm and they offered the full menu. My burger & sweet potato fries were delicious. My husband pasta disk was a bit spicy-- tasted mostly like white pepper. Service by Michael the bartender was polite and attentive. Happy late night meal.
Lucky's Taproom & Eatery
About this place
Arrive at Lucky's Taproom & Eatery in Dayton and the first impression is practical warmth - a family-friendly room, patio seating, and a sense that regulars already claimed their favorite seats.
Order with curiosity - start around burger, then leave room for plates built for sharing. Regulars often point newcomers toward the kitchen's daily strengths.
Practical note for first-timers: ask what is freshest that day and let the staff steer you. Weeknights usually run quieter than weekends. The listing address is 520 E 5th St, Dayton, OH 45402.
Platefolk keeps Lucky's Taproom & Eatery on the map because it still feels like a Dayton table with a point of view - starting with burger and ending with a reason to come back.
Guests often mention the patio as part of why they linger. Double-check details before you go - kitchens change, and Platefolk prefers honest updates over frozen claims.
What we value here is consistency: a kitchen that repeats its strengths, a room that does not treat guests like tickets, and a Lucky's Taproom & Eatery visit that still feels worth the trip across town. Bring curiosity, order something the staff recommends, and leave a short note afterward so the next diner arrives wiser.

Stopped in Labor Day weekend of 2025. From Columbus not usually in Dayton. First of all the server was extremely friendly and helpful. He was very accommodating as we had some special requests and some dietary restrictions.Food was very good ! Burgers great ! Chicken panini sandwich was awesome !! Soup great. Would recommend for sure. Will stop back next time I'm in town.
It's really dark in there and if there aren't enough people it's really quiet and awkward in there. The fried pickles were good! No complaints. I also got the chicken and Waffles, and while the waffles were yummy, the chicken had quite dry batter and there honestly was BARELY enough maple syrup and if you want more you have to pay 😭 for sure not the worst food I've had but I feel like there are a few improvements to be made.
Some of the best vegan food I have ever had, super customizable with options for every diet. Super kind staff and great vibes!
We dined at Lucky's as we passed through Dayton.A fun little tavern, quiet and clean. Service was stellar and the food, delicious...the mozzarella sticks, fish, and chkn tenders all came out fried to a crispy tasty perfection!
You can always get a good meal at Luckys. Stopped by for a burger and fries for lunch. Fries were seasoned to perfection and my order was made correctly. Fast service and friendly staff.
I've had the pleasure of visiting here both for Sunday brunch and dinner. A fantastic 'everybody knows your name' tavern with amazing food (everything has a little twist) from burgers to pasta, and great beer selection. Get there early to grab a table, or cozy up to the bar.
